This is 5 to 10 times more than the annual growth of the famous "plastic soup ".
The answer to a major problem
Sanding, scraping, applying several layers of toxic paint.... Redoing your antifouling every year is an unappreciated step in the maintenance of your boat. We regularly hear that if there was a solution that would allow you to protect your boat for longer, while maintaining its sailing performance and respecting the environment, it would be ideal! Finsulate antifouling has been fulfilling this requirement for many years now
Directly inspired by nature, Finsulate reproduces the quills of sea urchins. It is a physical barrier, a second skin that is completely waterproof. Without biocide or toxic substances, it acts mechanically and not chemically. Made of nylon fibres, it prevents marine organisms from invading the hull.
It is NOT a paint but a self-adhesive film that is applied directly to the surface to be protected. No release in the nature, the marine life is preserved and the hull of the boat is protected during more than 5 years without renewing the operation. A regular, easy and clean maintenance will keep Finsulate for a long time, this will be the only counterpart!
Finsulate antifouling has already been applied on more than 500 boats worldwide. It is effective in cold and warm waters, at sea and inland. The first applications started more than 10 years ago in Holland on professional boats and on yachts more than 5 years ago. This efficiency hindsight allows to reassure the future French users !
Concerning motorboats, the observed fuel savings vary from 7.5% for a 140m shipping vessel to 30% for a smaller boat. 10% of the energy consumption of a ship is due to fouling. The speed helps the nylon fibers to clean themselves, making the ship lighter and therefore less fuel consuming. This can represent tens of thousands of tons of fuel !
A STRATEGY OF DEVELOPMENT BY STAGES
An innovation recognized
The European Inventor of the Year 2019 award was given to Rik Beur, inventor of Finsulate, by EPO. This innovation, inspired by nature, makes it possible to protect hulls while respecting marine life
The diffusion of the Finsulate solution will have an impact on our practices and a spin-off on a whole economic sector. A positive revolution is underway!
A growing demand
After having equipped about fifty boats, essentially pleasure boats, the objective is to continue the development with private individuals and to accentuate the steps with the professionals (fishing, work boats, passenger/shipping vessels...).
Finsulate has all its place on the French market. The indicators are in the green as well on the level of the general interest as legislative.
Describe your project goal
Why we need you !
To pass our next step, we need to structure ourselves, to expand and thus give us all the support that Finsulate deserves!
Your support will enable us to quickly set up our axes of development.
I am convinced that if each one at his level becomes an actor in favor of the ocean, we will manage to preserve it.
With a solution such as Finsulate, you become in turn an ambassador and give meaning to your investment by supporting us !
They are strong levers of growth.
To make sure that Finsulate becomes THE French reference on the market of the alternative antifoulings. The first objective is thus to make it better known to the professionals and the general public. To multiply the sales in a significant way, to approach new markets.

How does the Royalty Financing work?.
The principle is simple, directly linked to the future turnover of the project :
His contribution entitles him to a % of the future revenues of the supported project, during a redistribution period (usually 5 years contract). Each quarter, the company declares the turnover achieved, and the contributor receives his % in proportion to the amount of his contribution. An annual adjustment is then made on the basis of the official annual accounts.
At the end of the redistribution period.
- If the company's forecast is realized as expected, it will have recovered in 5 years x times the amount paid at the beginning
- If at the end of 5 years, he has not recovered his initial stake, the payments continue so that he is reimbursed.
- If the forecast is exceeded, the maximum redistributed is 3x the initial contribution.
